There are cremains sitting on my dining room table.
Yep, you read that right. Cremains. My dear departed father-in-law is sitting on my dining room table, in a box inside a red velvet bag.
Like a gift bag from Santa.
He will staying with us until next summer when he’ll be going on a road trip to the Rockies and Yellowstone. His last road trip.
Honestly I’m not sure where to put him. In a chair? On a shelf? Do I set a place for him at the table? This is my first experience with human cremains. I have several urns of dogs and cat cremains. I keep them all together in an antique cabinet. I’d put my DDFIL in there too except he really didn’t like animals…..
In our family we deal with almost every situation with a little dose of humor or sometimes a huge dose of inappropriate humor. Most often that. Inappropriate (to some) humor that makes us literally roll on the floor laughing.
I’m not sure my DDFIL ever had that humor gene but I hope in his current state he understands. I also hope the dogs don’t think that bag holds something for them.
Um….I think a high shelf. A very high shelf.
Oh my goodness. LOL LOL LOL I thought I would have an “accident” I laughed that hard!!!! Thank you. I needed that!
