The RV Series-Parked in Newport- The Charge of the Light Brigade or Be Careful What you Wish For

Cannons

Yesterday I posted about the gangs of roving children that were here in the RV park all weekend.

I stated that I was holding on for Monday when they all ( I hoped) went back to school.

The good news is that many of the spots cleared out today and some of those munchkin gangs went home.

The bad news?    A very large family reunion moved in all around me.   To paraphrase Tennyson’s Charge of the Light Brigade

Cannon (family) to right of them,
Cannon (family) to left of them,
Cannon (family) in front of them
Volley’d and thunder’d;

There’s about 600.

And…..they have kids.   One in particular has a high-pitched  scream and seems to believe that communicating that way gets him what he wants.

And …….they have many little dogs.     I love dogs ( when I say this I mean it,not like when I said I love kids and just kinda sorta meant it).     But….these yap….which startles my old dogs.

So kid screams, little dogs yap, my dogs wake up.   Lather, rinse, repeat.

Back to Tennyson…….  I love the poem but I have to say this is my favorite version ( the youngsters among you will not remember the show, still funny) :

Firecrackers.   Hmmmm……   Perhaps.

Stay tuned…
